On-site Factory Exchange in Thailand: Ares Robot Explores New Automation Opportunities for Southeast Asian Manufacturers

To seize booming smart manufacturing opportunities in Southeast Asia, Chinese industrial robot manufacturer Ares Robot recently led a professional delegation to carry out field research and exchange activities at leading automotive and electronics factories in central Thailand. This overseas trip bridges technical communication between Chinese robotic suppliers and Thai end manufacturers, laying solid groundwork for localized business rollout in the ASEAN region.

Thailand’s manufacturing sector is undergoing comprehensive intelligent upgrading pushed by the Thailand 4.0 strategy. Most local production plants have long relied on manual operations, suffering from low efficiency, inconsistent product quality and severe recruitment challenges. Upgrading traditional production lines with collaborative robots has become an inevitable trend for local enterprises to enhance market competitiveness. During the visit, the Ares team witnessed actual production workflows on site, collected first-hand feedback on equipment operation environments, and adjusted solution designs to fit local practical needs.

The bilateral discussion covered core application scenarios including metal welding, workpiece handling, automated visual inspection and finished goods sorting. Ares showcased its flagship collaborative robots and flexible customized production systems, highlighting advantages such as easy deployment, strong environmental adaptability and complete post-sale support services. Thai factory executives stated that Chinese robotic equipment boasts obvious cost-performance merits compared with Western brands, and the one-stop technical service system effectively eliminates worries about overseas equipment maintenance. Both parties agreed to launch small-scale robotic pilot projects within three months, before expanding cooperation to full workshop automation renovation.

Beyond single project cooperation, the delegation also studied the overall development landscape of ASEAN automation industry. It is clear that Thailand will act as a key springboard for Ares Robot to penetrate the whole Southeast Asian market. The brand plans to set up regional service stations in Bangkok in the near future, shorten delivery cycles and respond to customer after-sales requests more rapidly.

With deepening China-ASEAN economic and trade ties, Chinese intelligent manufacturing enterprises are playing an increasingly vital role in promoting regional industrial upgrading. Ares Robot’s Thailand visit marks another solid step for domestic robotic brands going global, and will further promote the popularization and application of advanced industrial automation technology across Southeast Asia.
